Bible Curriculum
Kindergarten
Course Objective/Philosophy: To provide the learner with basic knowledge of the God’s word while instilling a desire for understanding of the importance of building a relationship with Him that will last eternally.
Textbooks: God’s Wonders: Christian Schools International, 2000 Holy Bible: King James and New International Versions, n/a Memory Verses: A Beka memory cards, n/a Various other materials/supplies as needed: Such as but not limited to: craft and art supplies, flannel graphs, videos, songs, etc.
Time Allotment: 15 to 30 minutes daily
Course Content/Description
1st Quarter: Creation, Noah, Moses, and up to entering Canaan (Units 2 – 5)
2nd Quarter: Israel’s first kings, Thanksgiving, and Christmas (Units 6, 10, 11). Jesus as a boy (supplemental)
3rd Quarter: Parables and Miracles of Jesus (Units 8 -9)
4th Quarter: Jesus’ Death, Resurrection, and Ascension, Daniel, Esther, Prophets (Unites 6, 7, 12 - 13)
Areas to Be Evaluated: Participation and Comprehension, Memory verse,
1st Grade
Objective: The learner will demonstrate a knowledge of basic Bible concepts and story components, as well as Bible scripture memory.
Textbooks: Abeka 1st Grade Bible curriculum; 2000, Pensacola Christian College. Supplemental: Bible Truths; BJU, 4th Edition
Time Allotment: 15 minutes per day for 5 days a week
Course Content
First Quarter: Salvation Series, OT – Adam-Jacob, various songs and Bible memory including 10 Commandments, Lord’s Prayer, and Days of Creation
Second Quarter: OT – Jacob-Joseph, 1st Thanksgiving, 1st Christmas, various Bible memory and songs, including Psalm 100 and Luke 2:8-12
Third Quarter: Boyhood of Jesus, Jesus’ Earthly Ministry, Various Bible Memory and songs including Books of Bible
Fourth Quarter: Crucifixion & Resurrection of Jesus, Life of Paul various Bible memory and songs
Areas to Be Evaluated: Formative assessments daily - question and answer/boys vs girls/think-pair-share
Summative assessment weekly with bible memory verse, end of unit test
2nd Grade
Objective: Students will explore the Bible starting with the creation and ending with John the Revelator and the New Creation. Students study the history of the Jewish nation starting with Abraham, and spoken by the prophets of old. Students examine the life and ministry of Jesus, God’s sovereignty and His promises. Students discuss how the Christian life is patterned out through the teachings of Jesus and that His parables illustrate the kingdom of God. Students memorize and recite the Lord’s Prayer, as well as other related Biblical passages.

Time Allotment: 30 minutes each Monday through Thursday
Course Content
First Quarter: Creation through Kings. Idol worship leads to the prophets speaking to Israel and Judah, eventually leading to exile. But God promises they will return; God always keeps His promises.
Second Quarter: Zechariah predicts the coming of the Messiah. John the Baptist prepares the way. Christmas is celebrated through the birth of Jesus. His ministry is examined. “Just who is this Jesus?” proclaims He is God. Only by Him can a person have salvation from the penalty of their sins.
Third Quarter: Many of Jesus’ parables are examined: most point to the kingdom; some show the life of the Christian. The events of Jesus’ death and resurrection are studied for many weeks. The early church is studied through the apostles, mostly Peter and Paul.
Fourth Quarter: Continue study from 3rd quarter of the study of the Christian life. Studying the Lord’s Prayer equips Christian students how to access God’s promises and forgiveness. They become familiar with the writer of the last book of the Bible, showing the Christian’s reward in heaven with God and His angels.
Areas to be Evaluated: Do the hearts of the students seem tender to the leading of the Holy Spirit? Do the students’ words and actions reflect the Christian walk in daily life? Bible Memory Verses
3rd Grade
Objective: The learner will become fluent in Bible verse/passage/ key passage memorization & will become adept at verse location in the New Testament. The learner will be able to explain how each verse or passage applies to his daily activities. The learner will also have a working knowledge of key events on a Biblical worldview timeline. Lastly, the learner will daily share things God can help him with & how God has blessed him & feel confident talking to God about them.
Textbooks: The Holy Bible KJV. Supplemental: Various related books
Time Allotment: 15 minutes per day for 5 days per week
Course Content
First Quarter: Units on Days of creation 7 related verses and songs. Unit on Books of Old and New Testament, songs, and locating in Bible.
Second Quarter: Unit on the 10 Commandments and our need of a Savior and related verses. Unit on Psalm 100 and Luck 2:8-12 and related songs.
Third Quarter: Unit on George Washington's prayer and related songs. Unit on the Love Chapter and related songs. Unit on the Blessed verses and related songs.
Fourth Quarter: Unit on Psalm 1 and related songs. Unit on Romans Road and related songs. Unit on the Armor of God and related songs.
Areas to be Evaluated: Formative assessments daily - question and answer/boys vs girls/think-pair-share.
Summative assessment weekly with bible memory verse, oral presentation of key passages during chapel.
4th Grade
Objective: The learner will become more familiar with the Bible and learn to apply its truth to their lives.
Textbooks: Record of God’s Nation, CSI, 1999
Time Allotment: 30 minutes a day for 144 days

Second Quarter: King David & King Solomon and The Divided Kingdom: Israel

5th Grade
Objective: Students will develop an understanding of the key events that led to Jesus being the fulfillment of Israel's story. Students will learn through the study of the four Gospels, the life and ministry of Jesus, both his humanity and divinity. Students will understand that the culmination of the Gospels is Jesus' death and resurrection.

Time Allotment: 30 minutes for 175 days
Course Content
First Quarter: Jesus' birth and Early Ministry
Second Quarter: Gospel Writings; Jesus' Ministry
Third Quarter: Gospel Writings: Jesus' Death, Resurrection and Ascension
Fourth Quarter: Luke writes about the Early Church
Areas to Be Evaluated: Jesus died for our sins, Jew or Gentile and rose for our salvation- students will also understand that Jesus gave the Great Commission, instructing not only apostles, but all to preach the gospel, teach his commands and baptize people.

Middle School (Year 1)
All middle school students take the same course together each year and in their three years at Trinity they will have taken each of the three courses.
Objective: To provide a survey of the Old and New Testaments over a 3 year period, developing Bible reading comprehension skills to understand how God worked with people in the Bible and how these truths apply to us today; to build a deeper understanding of doctrinal and practical truths through written exercises, discussions and memorization; to develop public speaking and social skills with group projects and presentations.
Textbooks: The House of Israel, text and workbook, Christian Schools International Publishing Company; NIV Bible
Time Allotment: 80 minutes per week, an average of 20 minutes each day for 4 days a week (no Bible on Chapel days); for 140 days
Course Content
Year 1 covers Creation through Ruth.
First Quarter: Introduction to the Bible, Creation, the fall of man, the Flood, Job
Second Quarter: The Patriarchal period from Abraham to Joseph
Third Quarter: Israel becomes a nation, Moses leads Israel from Egypt to the Wilderness Wanderings
Fourth Quarter: Joshua led Israel into the Promised Land and conquest, the period of the Judges, Ruth
Areas to be Evaluated: Weekly Scripture memorization, group projects, maintaining Bible notes in a workbook, unit quizzes, participation
